Maya Cueva is an illustrator, painter, disability advocate, musician, carpenter and an extreme lover of bright colors. She specializes in using a bright color palette and strong shapes to create fun, quirky and abstract illustrations. Maya has a degree in Illustration from Maine College of Art and Design and previously studied songwriting at Berklee College of Music.
Maya is passionate about working in the Public Health space and providing eye catching visuals to help patients and viewers better understand the material being presented. She often collaborates with Beneficent Design, creating illustrations and part time Art Directing. She presented at the Design For Dignity Conference in 2024 where she showcased a poem and song about her experience with Fibromyalgia and how it has impacted her life.
